“But you, O Lord, are enthroned forever; your name endures to all generations.” Psalm 102:12 (NRSV)

On Sunday before I wrote this, my great-granddaughter, Macy, (and her mother, Katelyn), came over to help me put up my clothes. We have quite the system – Katelyn takes them out, puts them on my lap a few at a time and Macy gets the hangers we use and brings them to me and shows me which hanger to use, and then Katelyn hangs them in the closet. It’s quite a process, but it works for us and we get to spend time between generations to help each of us grow.

Of course, in between times, we have to put Spot, the stuffed dog in time out because, we have to paint Grandma Joyce’s fingernails to make them beautiful, and then we have to get some cookies to eat because we have worked so hard to get a couple items from the grocery store, put up the clothes, etc. etc.

By the time Macy and Katelyn left, I had time to focus on how important it is to share with the generations God’s purpose in our life. As the scripture says, “enthroned forever” and enduring to all generations. Thank You, God for these blessings.

Dear God, help us listen to the voices of those who are weary, those who are broken-hearted, and be thankful for Your love and grace You share so fully. In Christ Jesus Name we pray. Amen
