Jesus is entering Jerusalem just before his arrest, trial and crucifixion. He weeps over the city. Most people don't remember this account of Jesus weeping. I remember having to memorize Bible verses in Sunday School Class, MANY years ago. Our favorite verse to memorize was from John 11 when Lazarus dies and one verse is Jesus wept. Two words, but they are so meaningful. Jesus crying. Jesus doesn't cry, does he??? He is strong like his Father. Does God cry?? I bet He does. Many times a day.

Here He is crying over the city of Jerusalem. WHY?? Because He knows the future of Jerusalem and its people.

He had been preaching for three years and the people did not recognize Him. One day they are praising Him and a few days later they are asking for His death. They saw Him, heard Him, saw His miracles and now this will be hidden from them. How different history could have been?

Lord, help us to see You and listen. Amen.
