Living Faith Seeks For God

“From there Jesus set out and went away to the region of Tyre. Jesus entered a house and did not want anyone to know He was there. Yet He could not escape notice, but a woman whose daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about Him, and she came and bowed down at His feet.” Mark 7:25-27

It seems like Jesus was intending to “take some time off,” by going to Tyre. By the time He arrived Jesus had traveled beyond the border of Israel. I wonder if He really expected to get some rest and renewal while on “retreat”? Obviously, the sunglasses and funny hat were not enough of a disguise. This woman “heard” Jesus was in town. This woman “sought” Jesus out. She tracked Him down. And she began her conversation with Him in an attitude of humble worship.

Faith that is alive keeps an eye out for where God is showing up in our world.

Faith that is alive is always listening for rumors that Jesus is in the neighborhood.

Faith that is alive does not assume that we need to find a church building to be encountered by God’s loving and glorious presence.

Faith that is alive knows God is always near and so seeks after God like a detective hot on the case while paying attention to the clues.

Faith that is alive approaches God humbly with an attitude of awe and worship.

Living Faith Seeks for God.

Open our eyes, Lord. We want to see Jesus. To reach out and touch Him. To say that we love Him. Open our ears Lord. And help us to listen. Open our eyes, Lord. We want to see Jesus.
