“...As we forgive those who sin against us.” Matthew 6:12

Forgive Us Our Sins

What does this mean? We pray in this petition that our Father in heaven would not look upon our sins, nor on their account deny our prayer; for we are not worthy of anything we ask, neither have we deserved it. But we pray that He would give us everything by Grace, for we daily sin much and deserve nothing but punishment, and we on our own part will heartily forgive and readily do good to those who sin against us.                                       Luther’s Small Catechism

 What do you see...

“Surely we’re not blind, are we?” John 9:40

“The Man called Jesus made mud, spread it on my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ Then I went and washed and received my sight.’

“He is a prophet.”

“If this man were not from God, He could do nothing.”

“As Jesus walked along, He saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked Him, ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?’ Jesus answered, ‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God’s works might be revealed in him.’”

John 9:1-3

“..for the LORD does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”1 Samuel 16:7
