Life Moments – God Connections – Baptism

First things first: God loves, God saves.
At Living Lord we believe that God is the main actor in all things which restore and redeem life. We are the grateful recipients of His Grace and at times joyful partners!
Holy Baptism connects us to the saving love and promises of God.
Holy Baptism connects us to Jesus.
Holy Baptism connects us to Jesus' death and resurrection.
God saves. Jesus saves. The Holy Spirit creates faith.

At Living Lord we celebrate infant Baptism which often is one of our first intersections with God. What follows is a life of telling and reminding that baptized one that they are loved by God. We're committed to helping the baptized grow in that identity.
At Living Lord we also celebrate Baptism with children, young people and adults because we know that God's Grace has no time line. When ever people are touched by that love and grace of God we are ready to connect the Lord's daily and eternal promise by Water and the Word!

Holy Communion feeds our faith.

We worship because God's Spirit gathers us together to sing praise, to hear His Word, to lifts our voices in prayer.  Regularly, God feeds us with the Word and at the Table of our Lord we taste the promise of Grace and Mercy, Love and Peace. Someone once said, "It's a small taste of bread and wine, but it feeds my soul to overflowing." We believe that Jesus is really present to us when celebrate and receive Holy Communion.
Since it is the Table of the Lord, we believe that this supper comes with an invitation to all. "Taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:6)
All are welcome. All are invited. Jesus is the host of this meal and feeds us with Himself.

Life Moments – God Connections – Worship

Have you ever met someone you were excited to see and you had so much to say that right after, "hi" you launched into your news only to realize they had followed their "hi" with the same flurry of words?
Worship is like that.
We have so much to say, to sing and to share with God. We use prayer time – silent and shared with others. We use music – hymns and songs, special offerings of music instrumental and with words with all kinds of instruments and styles. We use motion – standing, sitting – clapping – lifting hands – processions and dance. All used to worship God, which is the main thing!
Simultaneously God is speaking to us in Word, coming to us in Bread and Wine and Water. God is intersecting us and filling our gathering with the Spirit.
Back and forth it goes. Worship is a back and forth, down and up kind of thing.
Mainly, we believe that worship is focused on God way more than on ourselves. What's always glorious is how God touches us as we worship Him.

Life Moments – God Connections – Service

Have you ever tried to only breathe in? It can't be done, not even for a little while. Every breath in is followed by an exhale, a breath out.
God's love and grace, God's mercy and Spirit come to us like a breath in.
We believe that our life of faith and connection with God means a breathing out. The exhale is service.  The exhale is a going out from where God has gathered us to do God-imitating things in the world to which God sends us. The exhale is going to the world of relationships to discover that we do not bring God with us, but that go to we meet God, Who is alive and active in the world.
We believe that we are called to work for justice.
We believe that we are called and sent to work for peace.
We believe that, just as God's grace fills us, we are sent to be people dispensing grace where ever we go.
We cannot hold the Spirit in, so we breathe out!

Life Moments – God Connections – Learning100 1072

Remember when you took your first step?  (Your Mother or Father does) Remember riding the bike without training wheels or the first time you rode the skateboard without crashing? Or when you figured out a math problem without looking at the aids in the appendix?
Life is filled with moments of discovery and advancement. Small and large.
We believe that one of the blessed opportunities of a community of faith is to be along side people when they make those discoveries and steps, especially when God touches those moments (which we believe is all the time!).
Whether as a child, or a youth or more seasoned as adults; we want to be connected in the journey through life which is ever filled with learning, growing and ever deepening faith moments.
