Ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks will receive and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be open to him who knocks.

Would any of you who are fathers give your child a stone when he asks for bread? Or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish? As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him.

Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the law of Moses and of the teaching of the prophets.

A large group of people followed Jesus up on the hill, to hear his teachings. This is a portion from the Sermon on the Mount.

This sounds like it’s open door to get anything we want from God. But we all know, this isn’t how it works.

Ask: God wants us to be in communication with Him. He wants a relationship with us. He knows what’s best for us. Anything we ask for in our spiritual life, wisdom, discernment and knowing God’s plan for us will be given.

Seek: Seeking guidance from God with an open mind. To trust and have faith that He always know what’s best for us. Our actions should reflect that faith.

Knock: Doors will be open to us with persistent praying, even if we don’t get an immediate answer to our knocking. Keep God present your life, He wants to hear from you. When the timing is right and if our requests are in line with God’s plan, it will be granted.

This section ends up with “The Golden Rule”. Our parents taught this to us at an early age. It still holds true. Think how much better our society would be if we all followed this teaching of Jesus.

Keep asking, seeking, and knocking and see how God works in your life.

Gracious Heavenly Father, thank you for always hearing our prayers even if you don’t always answer them in our time and the way we would like. You always have our best interest in mind. In Jesus’s name. Amen

Prayer Concern: Pray without ceasing, knowing that God always hears us. He answers in His time and His way.
