Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. A large crowd followed him, and he healed all who were ill. He warned them not to tell others about him. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:

“Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope.”

Sometimes I wish life’s crises would play out like a DC Movie and that Batman would swoop down and beat up all the bad guys or that Superman would stop accidents and tragedies by using his impossible strength. Why can’t God exact justice and good in the manner of Comic books and film? Why can’t He play into the Hollywood narrative that is easier to understand? The real stories we experience are not often resolved in Hollywood-style.

Instead, He came to earth as a human, to quietly pay the price for the sin within each of us, offering the option for forgiveness and life eternal. He left a free gift -a doorway entering into God’s kingdom. Some of this kingdom we can experience in the here and now through the relief of forgiveness and the love we provide to one another. Some of the kingdom we will reach someday when our bodies are restored, and we are reunited with those who have died before us. The variables of time multidimensionality are what obscure the heavenly picture.

If you are struggling today, know that one day everything will be restored. Also, He will expand you in this realm to manage the crises of today. He will bring you hope.
