8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. 11 They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

Peter was a tremendous follower spreading the word of God in countless areas. This particular scripture is a needed reminder that the blessed life is closer than you think as Christians. I love the direct list of adjectives or “to do’s” he is listing for us to follow and describes the attitudes Christians should have toward one another to be dedicated people of God. We all yearn for a good life…. not a bad life, and here it is stating how to be happy in a Godly life built on the right standards! The basic items stated in these verses are being sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted and humble in spirit in our actions in whatever we do.

The real fact is that we all experience many tremendous days and some not-so-good days, but we must keep our eyes on God and ask for help, he is always listening.

Dear Lord, we pray we may keep our focus on you and our actions to others every day. Our love of you Lord, is so great.
