LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, in things too high for me. Surely, I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and forever.

A Song of degrees of David. Here is David, a man after God's own heart, being humble. He he is telling of his sins against the Lord by trying to express that he did not mean to do or be this way. It is like The Lord caught him and he is saying, "It wasn't my intent but yes I did these things. Please forgive me.".

Then he looks for justification by saying, "Surely, I have behaved and quieted myself". How much was the sin David was caught in that he has to show God how much he trusts him? He does show us that God is concerned of our inner self and soul. And finally in the las verse, David gets it correct.

He says for Israel to put its hope in the Lord forever. We are part of Israel as co-heirs of the promise through Christ Jesus. Therefore, this does apply to us. And we too will ask the Lord to forgive our sins that we commit against him. Just like David, who was a mortal person just like us, God is with us for our souls and spirit. The more we study God's word and take part in the body of Christ, the more is revealed to us through the Holy Spirit! Thanks be to God!

Lord, humble us in our walk of faith. Allow us to be kind to others and be witnesses for Christ. Amen!
