33 Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees,

that I may follow it to the end.

34 Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law

and obey it with all my heart.

35 Direct me in the path of your commands,

for there I find delight.

36 Turn my heart toward your statutes

and not toward selfish gain.

37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things;

preserve my life according to your word.

38 Fulfill your promise to your servant,

so that you may be feared.

39 Take away the disgrace I dread,

for your laws are good.

40 How I long for your precepts!

In your righteousness preserve my life.

I always love writing about the Psalms. These verses are a prayer for divine guidance, wisdom, and life, focusing on requests to teach God's ways, turn the heart from selfish gain, and preserve life through His word. This longest chapter of the Bible is a practical guide for letting God's truth shape your daily choices, comfort your heart, and direct your steps

As we are at the time of school and programming starting a new year, I feel like this is a great time for us to pause and look for guidance. We need to seek instruction from God about how to follow His Word with our whole heart. Ask Him to guide our desires and to guard our senses.

Dear Lord, I ask for your guidance so that I can move forward in Your grace. Incline my heart to hear Your word and to be grounded in faith.
