For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more; he will be very gracious unto to thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he shall answer thee. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, the thine eyes shall see thy teachers: And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left hand.

There is much power in these three verses. The Lord himself is giving instructions and showing his character in all the text written for each of us. We see his promise of not being in anguish anymore. He answers the prayers and applications we send to him. And he answers each of them. Let that sink in. This is what I get in the first verse of the scripture. But then the Lord throws a curve at us with the very next verse.

Here he tells us that yes, affliction and adversity are real to us. He is God. He created all things. He also says not to silence the teachers he has sent to us. He send them so our eyes will be opened to the teaching of his words. And this teaching will show us the way to the Lord. And it will keep us in his grace. Never reject the teachings of a teacher that is sent from God. He sends them in many forms. Be alert.

Lord give us teachers of your word that we too may pass this to other generations. Amen!
